MDG staff concentrates on collaborating with KSU faculty in the development, production, and delivery of sophisticated media-based materials to support established instructional objectives. MDG will consult with faculty members who want to design course resources and develop multimedia assignments. Discussions will include guidelines for assessment, scope of content, and viability of multimedia elements and development of a realistic timeline for completion. To help faculty gain perspective about the possibilities of instructional multimedia projects, MDG maintains an archive of previous faculty projects to use as models.
MDG also provides consultative and creative services to the KSU community. These services are constructed to train and assist individuals to design and produce "conventional" media (audio, graphic, photographic, and/or video) and "emerging" media (computer based presentations and interactive multimedia). In some instances, MDG will provide staff assistance on multimedia projects. In most cases, however, training will provide users with the required skills to complete their projects. Faculty who anticipate using MDG resources to support a class are encouraged to contact MDG to discuss in detail the needs of their students. To reserve space in the Media Lab for a special class-related workshop, contact MDG via e-mail at: training@mdg.kennesaw.edu
